Excellent Light Transmittance: The colorless, transparent PC sheet has a light transmittance of up to 92%, providing excellent natural lighting. Tinted sheets soften the light while blocking some sunlight.
Strong Impact Resistance: PC sheet is one of the most impact-resistant thermoplastics, boasting an impact strength 250-300 times that of ordinary glass. It’s known as “unbreakable glass” and “sounding steel.”
Excellent Weather Resistance: It maintains stable physical properties over a temperature range of -40°C to 120°C, resisting deformation and cracking due to temperature fluctuations. The co-extruded UV layer on the surface absorbs 98% of harmful UV rays, providing excellent aging resistance and a service life of 15-20 years. Thermal and Sound Insulation: PC boards have lower thermal conductivity than ordinary glass and other plastics, effectively reducing heat loss and providing a certain degree of insulation. They also effectively reduce noise; for example, a 10mm hollow board can reduce noise by 20 decibels.
Flame Retardant: PC boards have a natural ignition point of 630°C. They do not produce toxic gases during combustion, nor do they contribute to the spread of fire. They self-extinguish after removal from the fire, achieving a B1 flame retardancy rating.
Lightweight: With a specific gravity of only half that of ordinary glass, PC boards are time- and labor-efficient to transport and install, reducing the load-bearing stress on the building structure.
Installation Method
Preliminary Preparation: Measure the dimensions of the installation site, determine the size of the PC carport canopy, and allow for drainage slopes as needed. Prepare the framework materials, such as galvanized pipes or steel, as well as PC boards, screws, expansion bolts, waterproof coating, and other materials and tools.
Foundation and Frame Installation: Excavate the foundation pit and pour concrete. Install anchor bolts to secure the support columns. Assemble the columns and beams according to the drawings, using screws or welding to ensure structural stability and ensuring proper horizontal and vertical alignment.
Top panel installation: Insert the PC board into the frame’s slots and secure with screws or sealant, taking care to avoid stress concentration that could cause cracking. Apply sealant or waterproof strips to the joints to prevent water seepage.
Drainage system and detailed finishing: Drill a hole at the sink and connect the drain elbow to ensure unobstructed drainage. Check the frame’s stability, clean the site, and adjust the panel angle to optimize drainage and lighting.
